José Jaime de Domingo has been engaged with MJ4ALL since 2006 when he was the International director of the Spanish NGO MPDL and the two organizations worked together on the legal rehabilitation of the refugees and IDPs in the former Yugoslav republics. He later helped establish The Microjustice International Platform and Microjustice country organisations in Bolivia, Peru and Rwanda.
Jose Jaime supports Microjustice4All because he believes legal services should be an integral part of cooperation tools. According to him, they are necessary to improve social cohesion, for social cohesion to –in turn- improve overall welfare and diminish poverty. Moreover, he is of the opinion that affordable and accessible legal services are the pre-condition for any sustainable societal development. Jose Jaime’s main professional experience is in the area of Institutional Relations, at international and national levels. He developed his knowledge and skills during his time as international civil servant, NGO executive, and Director of private companies.
He currently is the Team Leader of the MediPIET Project, the Mediterranean Project for intervention Epidemiology Training. Prior to that, he was the Director of International Cooperation at ISOFOTON S.A, a pioneer in the world for the development of solar photovoltaic systems. He has served as Team Leader of “EUROsociAL Health” since 1991, an EC-funded project which improved the social cohesion in the Latin-American countries; Director of International Action for the NGO Movement for Peace (MPDL); and Desk Officer of Direct Action Program, which provided aid to 1,200,000 Bosnian refugees across the Balkans. Prior to that, Jose Jaime started his career in the mid-1980s as an agriculture engineer, participating in development projects financed by the World Bank and Inter-American Development Bank, of which the most important was implemented in Brazil to provide farmland to landless farmers.
